About Moor Caribou
Dedicated to quality language education since 2016
Our Story
Moor Caribou was founded in Toronto by a group of language educators who saw an opportunity to make quality language instruction accessible to busy professionals across Canada.
What started as a small team teaching French and English to corporate clients has grown into a comprehensive language school offering twelve languages through our online platform. We maintained our commitment to small class sizes and personalized attention even as we expanded.
Our instructors come from diverse backgrounds and bring cultural authenticity to their teaching. Each educator undergoes rigorous training in our methodology before leading a class.
What Guides Our Work
The principles that shape every course we deliver
Practical Application
Every lesson connects to real situations learners will encounter. We prioritize usable skills over abstract grammar drills.
Inclusive Environment
Adult learners bring diverse experiences and learn differently. Our instructors adapt their approach to support each individual.
Structured Progress
Clear learning pathways with measurable milestones help students track their advancement and stay motivated.
Respect for Time
We know our students balance many responsibilities. Sessions start promptly, materials are well-prepared, and every minute counts.
How We Teach
Our methodology draws from communicative language teaching principles adapted for online delivery. Rather than lecturing, our instructors facilitate active practice through conversation exercises, role-playing, and collaborative activities.
Each session balances four core skills: listening comprehension, speaking practice, reading fluency, and written expression. The proportion shifts based on course objectives and individual student goals.
Between live sessions, students access our learning portal with supplementary exercises, audio recordings from native speakers, and progress tracking tools.
